The KES International Conference on Innovation in Medicine and Healthcare (KES-InMed-15) will gather a multi-disciplinary group consisting of researchers and engineers, managers, students and practitioners from the medical arena, to discuss the ways that innovation, knowledge exchange and enterprise can be applied to issues relating to medicine, surgery, healthcare and the issues of an ageing population.

A central theme of the conference will be Smart Medical and Healthcare Systems which will cover the ways in which modern intelligent systems contribute to the solution of problems faced by healthcare and medical practitioners today, addressing the application of these systems through all of the strands of the event.

Call for Papers

High quality papers are requested within the scope of the conference. Full papers will be peer reviewed, and if accepted and presented, they will appear the the proceedings, published by a major scientific publisher.

Alternatively, authors may choose to submit a short paper, which will be presented but will not appear in the proceedings.

Call Proposals for Invited Sessions and Workshops

We invite senior researchers or managers who have a special interest in a specific conference topic to submit proposals for a special session of six papers, gathering articles from colleagues and managing the review process. For more details see the invited sessions page.

The Location

KES-InMed-15 will take place in Kyoto, a major a city located in the central part of the island of Honshu in Japan. It has a population close to 1.5 million. Kyoto was the imperial capital of Japan for more than a thousand years. It is now the capital city of Kyoto Prefecture located in the Kansai region, as well as a major part of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe metropolitan area. Historically the city was informally known as 'the City of Ten Thousand Shrines'.
